Flower watching tour in Kyrgyz mountains
Arrival in Bishkek. Meeting, transfer to the hotel.
Short rest, introduction of the wild flora in Kyrgyzstan. After the lecture is finished you will be transferred to Ala Archa National Park.
Ala Archa National Park is located in a picturesque gorge of Ala Archa (40 km from Bishkek). It's a popular place for hiking, skiing and mountaineering including trips to more than 20 glaciers. It covers an area of 200 square km. mostly forested valleys, waterfalls and rivers rich in trout. Several rare species of fauna and especially traditionally revered juniper trees are under protection in the Natural Park. It has very diverse fauna.
Lunch barbeque in the park. Return back to Bishkek.
Dinner in a local restaurant with Folklore show and national cuisine.
Overnight at the hotel.
Transfer to Tuya Ashuu Pass (3586 m) where we can see unique flowers as Glaucium squamigerum, Impatiens parviflora, Myosotis alpestris, Geranium saxatile, Ligularia alpigena, Polemonium caucasicum and many others.
Drive back to Bishkek. Night in the hotel.
Early in the morning transfer to the Issyk Kul Lake.
Issyk-Kul is the nonfreezing mountain miracle lake of the tectonic origin, situated in a deep mountain hollow between the ridges of the Kyungey Ala-Too and the Teskey Ala-Too range at an altitude of 1609 meters above sea level. Lake Issyk-Kul refers to the lake, formed by a tectonic way, and as a result of orographic closed basins. “Issyk Kul” translated from the ancient Turkic languages means “holly, secret lake”, and from the Kyrgyz language it translated as “warm lake”. Because of the large depth of the lake water does not become completely cool - the lake never freezes, except some places in shores.
Upon arrival in the lake accommodation and lunch in the hotel.
In the afternoon trip to Chon Ak Suu gorge. There is a chance to see very rare species Selaginella aitchisonii, Hepatica falconeri and even Kaufmannia semenowii that is included into The Red Book of Kyrgyzstan in the gorge.
Dinner and overnight in the hotel at the northern shore of the Issyk Kul Lake near Cholpon Ata town.
In the morning transfer to Djety Oguz gorge via Karakol town situated in the eastern tip of the lake area. In firry forest and alpine grasslands of the gorge watching and examining flowers. Dinner and overnight in Karakol.
Researching vegetation of the Terskei Ala Too ridge. Watching Saussurea involucrata, Pyrethrum leonthopodium, included into The Red Book of Kyrgyzstan. Arrival in Karakol. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning back way to Bishkek.
On the way exploring the vegetation on arid foothills located along the southern shore of the Lake Issyk Kul.
Dinner and overnight in the hotel in Balykchy.
Transfer to Bishkek.
Upon arrival sightseeing tour in the city: Manas Monument, the main national hero of the Kyrgyz people. Then excursion to the State History Museum and walking tour around main Ala Too Square to watch ceremony of changing of the Guard of Honor, Independence Monument, main governmental buildings, and finish at the Old Square with Parliament House and the only survived in Central Asia Lenin’s Monument.
Visiting Osh Bazaar, the largest and busiest market in the city.
Dinner in a local restaurant with welcome folk show of traditional Kyrgyz music and songs.
Overnight in hotel.
